Maybe 2017 was good year for you. Or maybe it was not. Regardless of where you ended off in 2017, let’s take a fresh new look at 2018.
As entrepreneurs, we get caught up in the daily operations of the business. Sometimes you just need to step back and do some planning before going full steam ahead. If you have a business plan, it’s time to do a yearly review. If you do not have a business plan, that’s OK as long as you follow the steps I outline below.
Here are some tips on how to set the foundation to make 2018 a strong year!
The reason we get into a car is because we want to go somewhere. It’s the same thing with your business. Where do you want to go? What do you want to achieve? By setting a goal, it will allow you to make decisions that align with your goals.
Once you have your goals, share them with your team. If you are a solopreneur, share it with your business partners, consultants and vendors. Everyone is there to help you achieve your goals. If you win, they do too!
2. Create a road map
Now that you know where you want to go, you now have to figure out how to get there. These are the steps you need to take or the resources you need to get to help you get there. If the goal is to have a live website, then you need to create a marketing message, write the content and find a web person to make it a reality!
Keep in mind that on the road to success, there will be construction zones that will require detours. Be flexible on your road map. Sometimes market conditions change or there are new products in the industry that can help or threaten your product or service.
3. Get feedback
A GPS will take you to your destination. How do you know whether you are on the fastest route? Get feedback from an experienced person can save you time, money and frustration. Choose someone that is an outsider so you can get an objective opinion.
Follow these steps and you will be on the right path to a great 2018!
