Many people spend a lot of time and money on sales and marketing and still struggle to get clients. Sometimes, it is not your technique, but rather, your marketing message. Are you able to grab people’s attention to listen to you?
Your marketing message sets the stage to tell people why they should listen to you. It’s like the introduction on a book cover. It’s catches a person’s attention enough without giving away too much. If done properly, people will naturally want you to tell them more! You need to build the intrigue.
So what are the secrets?
To get a person’s attention, you have to let them know that you understand them. If you can dig deep into the psyche of your target market and show how you can help them either achieve their goals or relieve their pain points, then you have their attention.
For example – Are you suffering from pain? Is it keeping you awake at night? Is it keeping you from doing the activities you love?
If you can relate to these pain points, then you will naturally go “That’s me!! Tell me more!”. If you can’t relate to these questions, then you are probably not the right person for me to sell my product to.
2. Offer a unique product or service
There are many people out there that probably do the same thing as you do. The big question is how are you different from them? Why should they buy from you and not someone else?
If you can somehow position your product or service that has something extra or different, then people will naturally go with you. If you sell supplements, perhaps you can bundle it into a nutrition program. Or you specialize in a special market. I chose to work with this one personal trainer years ago because he specialized in patients with high blood pressure.
Think creatively how you can be different.
3. Collaborate to get new ideas
You are not alone on this journey. Different people experience different things in their life so will have different perspectives. Group collaboration can be very powerful to help each other.
Sometimes one idea may not sound very good and it may trigger another idea which triggers another. Next thing you know, you have a great idea! As long as you keep an open mind to new ideas, you can get very creative!
